X-Flow Hydraulic Control System The brief was simple, create a way to actuate hydraulic mountain bike braking systems for people with one-sided, upper-limb disabilities. The X-Flow (Cross-Flow) integrates all the tactit aspects of common braking systems to introduce familiarity of use and control: While the regular pulling action operates one brake independently, pushing the lever downwards operates the other. A 45 degree motion allows modulation of simultaneous braking. This dual-axis mechanism is a retrofit capable, complete control system that will get people out enjoying their bikes where they may have been previously discouraged!
