Sketching is a huge part of my process. I use pen and paper as a visual diary of any project whose resultant scribblings serve to transcribe the thought processes and journey from initial conception to polished project.
Analogue and digital sketching can be used to ideate and create stunning work in progress or finished product renderings. Print and Graphic Design ideas are always fully considered and resolved long before a Mac is even switched on.
Sketches tend to follow a similar cycle to a human being. They start off free and curious, often comical and confused. They then develop into a well rounded expression of the core personality of the project, until they reach their artistic and technical pinnacle. Finally they tail off into obscure, bent technical scribblings.
